Do You See What I See?

"I love your legs.  You've got great legs!"

"No, I love yours, yours are so pretty."

"I hate mine, look at my thighs- ugh- YUCK!"

"I hate mine, I've got nothin' but cottage cheese!"

"Yeah, but look at your ankles- they are gorgeous- so little."

Yep, that was my convo hanging out with my girlfriend tonight while our kids ran yonder.  Wouldn't it be nice if we saw ourselves how others do?  As women, when we look at others, we always see the positive... the good, the beautiful- Yet when we look at ourselves, we bypass what we've got going on and jump straight to our pitfalls and what bothers us.

To hell with the Beast.  We all need to work on seeing the beauty.  It's in all of us.

It's time for women (hello, this is a little self-talk here) to start being a friend to themselves and to look at our bodies like we are besties.

To growing... from the inside out.:)

  1. This is such an important point. I find that when others are talking negatively about themselves and are super critical of their perceived faults, it's contagious and it makes me feel bad about myself. I find myself trying to avoid people that are so down on themselves because they take me down with them. Yuck! Here's to positive self affirmations!!
