I did it, I did it, I did it, Yeah!

It's late, and I'm tired. I had a mom's night out~ Bunco to be exact.:) Don't laugh... It was a fun-filled night of suburban housewives rolling dice- it doesn't get much better than that.:) I just have to say that I'm totally patting myself on the back right now. I managed to go to Bunco and only drink water, have one chip, and two teeny tiny pieces of bread with a smidgen of spinach dip. I left the party and the only thing that went through my head was "I did it, I did it," to the tune from Dora the Explorer... sad, I know. :)

I'm loving the kickboxing classes and I'm pretty much addicted to them right now. Although, I can't manage to get through the ab routine at all. I took a class on Sunday and had to skip a bunch of counts. Yesterday, I took another class, and I thought I was on a roll and doing great... and then the instructor (who is awesome) was standing by me and said, "Great modification!" Evidently, I wasn't really doing the exercise as well as I thought.:) Oh- and a note to myself... don't wear shorts with bright blue undies because you can totally see them on your kicks... and it's not cute!

Today, I met with my personal trainer!!! Yes, you heard that correctly. The gym also offers personal training! I'll be meeting with this guy a few times a week so he can help whip me into shape... Ya see how positive I've become! Meet Justin:

He's got TONS, and I mean TONS of experience, and he's given me permission to post my workouts, ab routines, and nutrition information for my readers to see! This means, as I share my new wealth of information, you might want to take it to heart... It's not just coming from a fat chick, but from someone who has had years in the business.

Today, he gave me a shopping list... and here are my favorite tips:

-"Sugar-free is fat free, meaning you're not going to gain fat. Fat-free has sugars, which means it's not really fat-free."

- An apple a day keeps the doctor away... and a green apple a day can actually help you lose up to ten pounds a year. Think about this. The average green apple is 90 calories, but it takes your body 120 calories to work and digest it... Therefore, it's like eating -30 calories!!! I think that's called the caloric burning effect... but don't quote me on that, because I could be way off.:)

And lastly... think about this when grocery shopping:
-strawberries, oranges- fat burners
-blueberries- full of antioxidents
and last but not least,
-pineapples- are full of amino acids and help with soreness. Speaking of soreness, I think I'll go down a pineapple!
